SEMA seeks domestic PE and VC fund managers

The South Korean pension issues a request for proposal for both PE and VC managers.

SEMA has issued a request for proposals from domestic private equity and venture capital fund managers. The pension intends to commit a total of 150 billion Korean won ($105 million; €89 million) to at most four private equity managers and a total of 90 billion won to at most six venture capital managers.

Eligible managers should manage a fund of at least 300 billion won for private equity, and 50 billion won for venture capital. The submission deadline is 16 September 2022, with a decision put to the investment committee planned in late October.

The 9.19 trillion won pension has a 66 percent target allocation to alternative investments that currently stands at 61.8 percent.
