SEMA seeks domestic PE/VC fund managers in 2021

The South Korean pension issues a RFP for both PE and VC managers.

SEMA has issued a request for proposal for domestic private equity and venture capital fund managers.

The pension plans to commit a total of 120 billion Korean won ($105 million; €89 million) to at most four private equity managers and a total of 100 billion won to at most five venture capital managers. Eligible managers should manage a fund of at least 100 billion won for private equity, and 50 billion won for venture capital.

The submission deadline is 19 August, 2021, with a decision put to the investment committee planned in early October.

The 7.88 trillion won pension has a 67.0 percent target allocation to alternative investment that currently stands at 61.8 percent.
