SFERS approves $105m in commitments

The US public pension has backed two private equity funds.

San Francisco Employees Retirement System has approved $105 million-worth of commitments to private equity funds, a contact at the pension informed Private Equity International.

The commitments comprise $80 million to GGV Capital VIII, including parallel vehicles GGV Capital VIII Plus and GGV Discovery III; and an additional $25 million to Altaris Health Partners V.

As illustrated below, the pension’s recent commitments have been primarily to venture capital vehicles targeting a variety of sectors. SFERS has an 18 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 22.2 percent.
