SFERS approves $48m in commitments

The US public pension has backed two private equity funds.

San Francisco Employees’ Retirement System has announced commitments of $32 million to LAV Fund VI and $16 million to LAV Fund VI Opportunities, according to the pension’s February 2021 meeting agenda.

The $30.65 billion US public pension has an 18 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 22.3 percent.

As illustrated below, majority of SFERS’ recent commitments have been to funds focused on biotech, life science and technology sectors in North America, Asia and Europe.
