TMRS boosts allocation to private equity

The US public pension has announced an increase in its exposure to private equity.

The Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) has increased its exposure to private equity from 1.60 percent to 2.02 percent.

The $29.14 billion US public pension has a 5.0 percent target allocation to private equity which TMRS has now inched closer towards with this increase in exposure.

As illustrated in the charts below, TMRS has made several commitments to private equity funds with a 2018 vintage, which combined constitute $1.03 billion.
