TRS approves $390m in commitments

The US public pension has backed three private equity vehicles.

Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) has agreed to $388 million in private equity commitments, a contact at the pension informed Private Equity International. TRS has committed $25 million to GHP CI Aggregator; a GHP VI co-investment fund, €100 million ($112 million) to Timberlake, an investment vehicle managed by Triton Investment Advisers and €225 million ($253 million) to The Seventh Cinven Fund.

The $153.13 billion US public pension has a 13.0 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 13.90 percent.

As illustrated in the charts below, TRS has also made six commitments to private equity funds with a 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $1.12 billion.
