TRS approves $400m in commitments

The US public pension has backed three private equity funds.

Teacher Retirement System of Texas has confirmed $400 million-worth of private equity commitments to three vehicles, a contact at the pension informed Private Equity International.

The commitments comprise of $200 million to BPEA Bluebonnet Partners, $125 million to Clearlake Capital Partners VI and $75 million to Blackstone Life Sciences V.

The $152.20 billion US public pension has a 14.0 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 13.90 percent.

As illustrated below, TRS has made several commitments to 2019-vintage private equity funds, which combined constitute $2.91 billion.
