TRS approves $732.72m in commitments

The US public pension has backed four private equity funds.

Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) has agreed to four private equity commitments totalling $732.72 million, a contact at the pension informed Private Equity international.

The commitments comprise of $100 million to New Enterprise Associates 17, €340 million ($382.72 million) to Permira VII, $150 million to Great Hill Partners VII and $100 million to Padawan, an agribusiness buyout fund-of-one managed by Paine Schwartz.

The $153.13 billion US public pension has a 13.0 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 13.90 percent.

As illustrated in the charts below TRS has made 13 commitments to private equity funds with a 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $2.04 billion.
