Teachers’ Retirement System of the State of Illinois has confirmed $1.2 billion worth of commitments across its private equity funds, following its June board meeting.
In the system’s $10.4 billion private equity portfolio, a new investment relationship was established between Francisco Partners and TRS Illinois, with a commitment of $100 million made to Francisco Partners Fund VII.
The remaining eight funds already have existing relationships with TRS Illinois. The commitments consisted of the following: $125 million to Advent GPE X; $150 million to Arlington Capital Partners VI; $200 million to EQT X; €75 million to Providence Strategic Growth Europe II; $200 million to RCP SBO Fund III; $125 million to SK Capital Partners VI; $200 million to Veritas Capital Fund VIII and $14 million to Grain Communications Opportunity Fund II.
Within the system’s $65.33 billion portfolio, 15.9 percent is allocated to private equity, well above its target of 15 percent. Its recent fund commitments have been predominantly focusing on buyouts worldwide.
