TRSL approves $200m in commitments

The US public pension has backed a pair of private equity funds in its maiden 2021 commitments haul.

Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana confirmed $200 million of private equity commitments to two funds at its January 2021 investment committee meeting, a contact at the pension informed Private Equity International.

The commitments comprised $100 million each to Thomas H Lee Equity Partners IX and Charterhouse Capital Partners XI.

TRSL has a 14 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 18 percent.

As illustrated below, the $22.82 billion US public pension’s private equity commitments have tended to target venture capital, growth equity or buyout vehicles focused on Europe and North America.
