University of Houston System approves $27.5m in commitments

The US endowment has backed four private equity funds.

University of Houston System has committed $7.5 million each to Advent Global Private Equity IX, Dover Street X and Trident VIII, according to the endowment’s most recent board meeting materials. These funds are managed by Advent International, HarbourVest Partners and Stone Point Capital respectively. A further $5 million has also been committed to Clear Ventures’ second venture capital fund.

University of Houston System recently increased its allocation to private equity from 10.95 percent to 14.06 percent.

The Texas-based endowment has made eleven commitments to private equity funds with a 2018 or 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $75 million.
