Virginia Retirement System confirms $925mn in commitments

The US public pension has backed three private equity vehicles.

Virginia Retirement System confirmed commitments worth $925 million across three private equity funds at its October 2021 investment advisory committee meeting.

The commitments comprised $175 million to Trident IX and $250 million to Whitehorse Liquidity Partners V. The pension also committed $500 million to Oak Hill Diversified Credit.

VRS increased its current allocation to private equity, which stood at 15.6 percent in August 2021 and now stands at 16.9 percent as of October 2021.
