The ranking shows that the downward trend in fundraising has reversed, with the top 10, top 50 and entire 300 showing a recovery in fundraising levels after several years of gentle declines. Our statistics also show that the broadening out of the asset class away from North American dominance continues at an almost glacial pace: US-headquartered firms again occupy nine of the first 10 spots in the ranking while London cements itself behind New York as the second largest centre for private equity raisings.
